The death of Joyce Evelyn
Dixon, 59, occurred at home in Sackville on Sunday,
February 28, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Joyce was born in
Sackville, a daughter of Walter and Emily (Oulton)
Dixon.
Joyce was a member of the Jolicure
United Church.
For years she had worked for Lounsbury's
in Sackville, both the furniture store and car dealership.
Most recently she loved her work with AFG Electrical in Moncton up
until her retirement. She was very kind with a strong heart
and loved caring for everyone. She enjoyed spending quality
time with her nieces and nephews and loved all children. Joyce enjoyed
her time with all of her family.
She will be deeply missed by her
parents, Walter and Emily Dixon, Jolicure; one sister, Maggie (Brian)
Dixon, Dartmouth; four brothers, Stanley (Anne), Mates Corner, Jeffrey
(Darlene), Sackville, Herb (Colleen), Watford, ON and Wayne, Mt.
Whatley; nieces and nephews, Scott (Natalie), Peter (Christine),
Patrick (Cassey), Carter (Victoria), Jeffrey (Megan), Matthew (Jess),
Emily, and Melissa; grand-nieces and nephews, Molly, Janelle, Celinda,
Mason, Rory and Porter. She will also be missed by special
extended family, Holly Kay, Nicholas Wry (Sara and Mason), Stephanie
Wry (Mitch); her much loved, furry friend, Elmo; her special caregiver
Kim Lewis and her stepson, Bradley Read, and his father, Ronald David
Read
Joyce was predeceased by her son
Christopher Murray Dixon-Read in 1997 and her infant sister, Helen
Dixon in 1957; her nephew, Walter Dixon in 1986, as well as her
maternal grandparents, Herb and Agnes Oulton and her paternal
grandparents, Walter and Ida Dixon.
Arrangements are under the care and
guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge
Street, Sackville from where a time of visitation will be held on
Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 1 pm until the time of the funeral at 2
pm. Wayne Jarvis DLM and Rev. Dr. Eldon Hay
officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory
of Joyce may be made to the Jolicure United Church or the
IWK
